Camp Stone returns this summer better than ever with new programs, field trips, golf lessons and much more. All grade levels will be on a three week rotating schedule beginning the 2nd week of camp. Children are grouped by the grade level they will enter in the 2009-2010 school year. As always prices for camp are low and competitive. Please see the Tuition and Fees Policy Information form on the downloads page for more information. Applications will be accepted throughout the summer, however some camps have a maximum limit and once met, no other students will be allowed to enroll for that week. Download an Admissions Application and register today!!
Camp Stone summer day camp consists of three different components this year:
*Community Explorers
For an entire week students will travel offsite for an entire day of adventure. From theme parks to museums, wildlife parks and art galleries, children get to experience their community and abroad with their friends. Some weeks the First Tee of Fort Worth will also host the children for golf lessons at the Rockwood Golf Course in Ft. Worth. Uniforms and sneakers must be worn on most field trips. Exceptions will apply. Keep checking the website for a list of field trips, coming soon!!
*Technology Camp
Understanding children are the future, Cornerstone Academy goes to great lengths to ensure students have a well rounded experience in technology every summer. New to our program last year, Texas Railroad Commissioner, Michael Williams, and his company, William’s Innovations, chose Cornerstone Academy and Cornerstone Baptist Church to launch his engineering camp. Be The Game is a program where students learn to not just “play” the game but “be” the game. Students designed 3D models and built video games using the same software as gaming professionals. At the end of the program all participants met Mr. Williams and received plaques for their achievements. An invitation to the State Capitol Building in Austin, TX was the highlight of the summer for these campers as they enjoyed pizza and a lecture from the Commissioner Williams. In addition to the Be The Game program students will learn other aspects as it relates to the engineering and science field this summer. Check out the video on the home page!!
*Sensory Motor School
Cornerstone Academy believes school should not only be educational but it should be an experience; an individualized experience in a group setting where every student has the opportunity to excel in his/her own learning style. By stimulating the brain throughout the day with activities, food and water, Camp Stone offers students the opportunity to learn on their grade level in the summer with our new program. Classes will be taught by Cornerstone Academy elementary teachers and will be held every three weeks. By doing so, students will review what they have learned this previous school year but the fun comes in challenging their minds to think creatively and innovatively to excel in concepts not yet introduced to them. School hours are 8:30-3:30pm this week and all students must be in uniform.
